A short story about us
At our organization, we are dedicated to the rescue, care, and rehoming of abandoned, injured, and stray animals along the southern coast of Kenya. As a registered Community-Based Organization (CBO), we rely heavily on the generosity of the public through physical donations, such as pet food and medication, as well as financial support. These contributions allow us to maintain our clinic and shelter, and to provide essential training for our staff.

We prioritize transparency in all our operations; every donation is acknowledged with a receipt, and we ensure that all project activities and investments are thoroughly documented and shared with our valued supporters. Together, we strive to create a better future for vulnerable animals in our community, offering them the care and love they truly deserve.
Compassionate Care for Animals
- About Fran & Dan -
From the very beginning, our deep compassion for animals has guided our journey. Our first pup Spotty, a stray from Puerto Rico, opened our hearts to the plight of abandoned pets.
Upon moving to Kenya, we were struck by the overwhelming number of strays in need, prompting us to take action. We dedicated ourselves to feeding as many hungry mouths as possible and ensured that countless animals were spayed and neutered to prevent future suffering. Along the way, we welcomed four more cats into our lives, expanding our family and our commitment.
When the opportunity arose to acquire the farm, we recognized it as a unique chance to create a sanctuary where both animals and people could thrive together in harmony. Our mission is clear: to foster a loving and safe environment for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Our precious Spotty
Spotty just turned 7 in 2025! In these seven wonderful years, he has filled our lives with joy, love, and endless happiness. His playful spirit and unwavering loyalty remind us daily of the simple pleasures that truly matter. From our morning walks to cozy evenings on the couch, each moment spent with him is a cherished memory. Spotty has an amazing ability to brighten even the dullest of days with his wagging tail and sweet cuddles.
Thank you for being such a loving companion, Spotty, and for teaching us the importance of appreciating every little moment. Here’s to many more years of adventures, belly rubs, and unconditional love. We celebrate you today and always, dear Spotty!
