Jambo, Emilio is my name

I was born on April 11th, 2025, at the AAK farm. My lovely mother, Holly, the donkey, takes excellent care of me, and I had a wonderful start to life here in Shimba Hills. Fortunately, my donkey father, Mailaika, is also part of our family, and we truly are a joyful bunch. From day one, I was welcomed by the other animals on the farm; even Tommy, the wild young dog, teaches me new playful tricks and games every day. I absolutely love my time here, and the humans on the farm treat me like their beloved little one. Even though I’m still a baby, I feel grown-up enough to search for a warm-hearted person out there in the big world who is motivated to help with my well-being. Particularly during my early days, I have frequent check-ups with Vet Dr. Peter, and, of course, I require regular hoof care. Not because I’m vain, but without well-trimmed hooves, a donkey can face health issues. By sponsoring me, I promise my sponsor that I will do my best to be a wonderful donkey buddy just like my dad, and I will share lots of pictures and updates from the farm with my sponsoring friend, keeping them posted on how my life is unfolding.

JANUARY 2026 - UPDATE
Emilio was taken from us by the landlords of the farm—a heartbreaking loss that has left our family shattered and longing for his safe return. He was more than just a presence; Emilio was a treasured member of our warmhearted family, bringing joy and comfort to each and every one of us. The pain of his absence is deeply felt in every corner of our home.

We are profoundly disappointed by the actions of those who parted us from him without consideration for the bond we share. Despite this sadness, we remain steadfast and trustful that justice will prevail. Our commitment to bringing Emilio back is unwavering, and we are actively pursuing every legal avenue available to reunite our family.

The warmth and love Emilio brought cannot be replaced, and we hold onto hope that soon, through the proper channels and with the support of the law, he will return to the place where he truly belongs. Until then, we continue to stand strong together, cherishing our memories and looking forward to the day when our family is whole again.
